it's 1:39pm on a Saturday afternoon in sunny Dubai the UV index just crossed 11 so of course as the palest guy in middle east if you ask my girlfriend im avoiding the sun so, as you can tell im not here for the tan im here for something much more fun.. paperwork big business "money moves" as the young guys would say not really the paperwork took about 10 mins yesterday awesome planning with booking 10 days! yikes when im not doing paperwork which is 99,9% of the time im making the most of the time by getting work done here in dubai, theres no distractions no family gatherings friends swinging by or Bertha chasing a fly around the house it's the best place on earth for focus and the reason for me moving here 3 years ago lock in grind money above everything then life hits you you grow up you learn and those f*ing annoying distractions yep the ones you moved away from the ones that were "holding you back" the ones you blamed for your lack of progress you know what im talking about they're the exact distractions you miss deeply the ones you think of before falling asleep zzzz because they gave you something important contrast when you've tried locking yourself away in a small apartment for 2 years you miss the everyday moments Bertha chasing that stupid fly my mom showing up unannounced on a random wednesday or your girlfriend interrupting your work by telling the same joke for the 126th time when im wearing a white t shirt "why are you not wearing anything?" yeah i don't call them distractions anymore i call them life and a damn good one best, fred |
