never meet your heroes..

It's the 20th of May on a regular Wednesday morning

The routine is business as usual

I wake up at 5:30am and get straight out of bed, so there's space in the bed for my golden retriever Bertha

Ida and Bertha always sleeps a few more hours

I make coffee and head straight to my favorite place on earth

My workspace

There's nothing better than the early morning hours with zero distractions

Pure peace and creativity

Ahh, you know the feeling

Calm

But not this morning..

I check my Instagram notifications and my heart rate goes straight to 180bpm

"Taki Moore started following you"

I take a screenshot, rush over to the DMs section so that I can show Toby what just happened

Then my heart rate goes to 220bpm

"Taki Moore - 3 new messages"

At this point, my Whoop is pinging me to get out of Zone 5 before I pass out

I open the conversation

And I....

Smile

Those messages made my entire day

Actually, they made my year

I let Taki know that his words means more than he think, because he is a huge inspiration for me

1) He's been in the online business space for 20 years (that's also my plan)

2) He is a dad (im about to become a dad)

3) He creates incredible content (I try my best every single day to do the same)

4) He seems like one of the few people who actually cares (I can now confirm, he does)

I really needed those messages at that time

Because whenever you truly dedicate yourself to something

You try your best

And someone you respect recognizes it

There's no better feeling

In the following months, I spend the majority of my time working on my HRV and getting my heart rate back to normal

It's a long process

Then, 2 weeks ago on a normal morning where my pulse is back to normal

I check my Instagram

Taki is coming to Copenhagen in a few weeks

As you know, i've been working on that HRV training, so my heart rate is no problemo this time

I casually slide in the DMs

Im kinda rusty at that activity, i've been off the dating market since I was in my last year of high school

But it works!

Taki and I schedule a coffee date

The day comes around

And it's even better than I imagined

We laugh, talk about YouTube, client delivery, about being a dad and the industry we're both in

Toby decides to take the best picture of his entire life

"Hang it in the Louvre!"

It took me a few days to digest everything

Im 27

Im still figuring everything out

Trying to work out what's up, down, right, left or just in between in this online world of business

Sometimes, I find it very difficult to walk a path that i've never walked before

Is it going to work out?

A few weeks ago, I wouldn't be sure

Now, I can confidently say

Yes

It's going to work out

All it took was a few hours with a 50 year old Aussie guy you've watched on the big internet

A guy who pays for your coffee

Who's a proud dad and a husband (you should see his eyes when he mentions his family)

Someone who asks questions and listens

What a day

So kids

Never meet your heroes

Unless your hero is Taki Moore

Best, Fred

it's sunday afternoon here in cloudy Denmark and I just arrived home from a very special mastermind in Austria 5 days a room (and spa) full of entrepreneurs most of them 10 years older than me bigger businesses, more proof and resumes as impressive as the views of the Austrian alps and yet they were the ones who came to me about content their brand their communication at first, I didn’t get it just a few days ago when I was packing my suitcase, I was preparing for the opposite me coming to...
