"building" excuse

to be honest with you, i had no idea how to price fred's inner circle

$1,200 a month felt a little too low

$1,800 felt safer but still meh

$2,500 felt worth it, but told myself i needed more feedback

i kept running the math back and forth with good old Claude

"how many people would it take to hit $168k in MRR?"

all i wanted was to find the "right" answer, the "perfect" price

everything was ready except for the price tag

then one morning, i just picked $1,550, threw it in my doc and sent out an email to 40 people on my waitlist who wanted the details

no strategy what so ever

i filled the 7 available spots for the month of May in less than 48 hours with one email

lol

and now, 10 days before the June intake, i've filled 5 of the 7 spots from an early invitation to the people who attended my Menu Card workshop as guests

incredible people btw

did i pick the perfect price? i have no idea

but i know this: any of those four numbers would have worked

the only price that doesn't work is the one you never launch

because here's the pattern i see everywhere right now (sometimes in myself too)

people spending 20 hours vibe-coding a custom CRM in claude instead of just paying $100 for the one that already exists

people refining their offer doc for the third week in a row instead of posting it and seeing if anyone bites

people tweaking their youtube script until it's perfect instead of hitting record on the messy version

it's only gonna get worse from here

the current accessibility to "AI" and "vibe-coding" will turn everyone to software engineers

and i get it

"building" feels like progress

it feels technical. it feels smart. it feels like you're doing something

but it's just cope

it's a way to not put yourself out there

it's a way to avoid being seen, judged, or rejected

the irony is that marketing is rarely logical which can be very confusing for people who need certainty

you can do all the testing in the world

but, at some point, you just have to pick a number, write the post, record the video and see what happens

all answers are right - except for inaction

i picked $1,550 and it worked

not because it was the perfect price.

but because i stopped refining and started selling

best, fred

when i lived in sunny dubai and my business did $217,000 per month, i didn't feel very rich last month, my business only did 1/4 of that number the taxman takes half of it i only see the sun twice per year in denmark and yet i've never felt richer the digital coffee shop model wasn't designed to make me rich in cash fast if I wanted a quick jump in revenue, i could've picked the restaurant on the other side of the road they serve a money back guarantee together with a nice video sales letter...

when you focus more on ideas and philosophy rather than offers and guarantees, this is what happens: i sent my offer document to a guy who showed interest in working with me yesterday everything looked great, he just had 1 question: "Do you have examples of companies you've worked with that are not working with other coaches/consultants to help them grow? I know this is an annoying question, it's just that I have been burned before by people who were "selling the shovel." fair question, i've...

this week has been busier than usual i've had an extra 6 hours of 1on1 calls with the new folks for Fred's Inner Circle starting on the 1st of June as a result, i've had a few longer days at the office the first to notice is never myself it's my girlfriend so last night at dinner, she asked me: "is it because you're doing so many different things now?" i was a bit confused, so she followed up pretty fast "yeah, with the menucard, there's so many different things on it" i smiled, said no and...
